Fashion (continue)
Week 8 Today I had the Reading English Strategies class at 8.30 a.m.-12.30 p.m. My friends and I learned about "Fashion" that continues last week. The class started. The teacher reviewed the info last week. She asked us that Could you show the pictures about hair in their countries? But there students forget this homework. Therefore she said "Who forget this homework? Let's go to do it quickly. I give you 15 minutes." When I heard that I run to do it quickly. I was very tired. When I had already done it, I went back the class. Then she told us to look at our hand-out on page 73 and look at the pictures and slove the anagrams about hair. For example : 1 hipriasky is spiky hair.
Next, she provided us to read the story. the story was "Splitting Hairs." because she had to attend to the meeting. She told Aj.Putsadee to take the class instead her. When Aj. Putsadee came into the class. she gave us reading the story. After that, she taoght how to read and translate the meaning of the text.
I think I found difficult words, phrases and main idea. when I had problems, I will try to guess words meaning, find the reference, and summary the main idea but I cannot understand this story and find the main idea. I am going to solve the problems are reading it a few time, search the words on dictionary.cambridge.org, and opened dictionary on my cell phone etc. If I was unfamiliar some words or some phrases and try to find the main idea, I will note them in my handout. I used skimming, scanning, finding the main idea, and checking the answers of "Fashion" in reading.
When we had already done exercise finish, the master who gave corrective feedback for us. My attitudes toward this lesson is useful for all students. It can be applied to the other course or lesson for understanding in reading each of stories.
